Monday, February 1, 2010 : TgGame Client has encountered a problem ERROR oomph

================================================================

If you're experiencing any difficulties installing the game.

Occasionally, Steam will appear to have fully downloaded and patched the game. However, when you attempt to launch into the game, you will have issues loading. This may take several forms, but an error condition occassionally seen is: "GlobalAgenda.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

This article provides steps to troubleshoot.

Verify Integrity of Steam Installtion

As a first step in troubleshooting, follow tehse steps to have Steam confirm that it has the latest files and a correct install.

1) Go to Steam
2) Find Global Agenda in My Games
3) Right click and select Properties
4) Select the "Local Files" tab
5) Choose "Verify integrity of game cache..."

This may take a few minutes to run, but it should correct any very obvious installation issues.
Ensure Pre-Requisities Are Properly Installed

If that fails to solve the problem, please follow these additional steps to ensure your system has the proper pre-requisites installed.:

0) Make sure your computer has been rebooted since you performed the Global Agenda installation, or since you last installed an Unreal Engine 3 game (such as Mass Effect 2). There is an issue affecting some PCs in which the latest version of NVidia PhysX will not function properly until your system restarts, and in which the installer does not properly prompt you to restart.

1) If you are running Windows Vista, but are not on Service Pack 1 or higher, we very strongly suggest that you upgrade to SP1. There are known problems that affect the game documented at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940105

2) If you have an AMD multi-core processor, view "Crash Related to AMD Multi-Core Processors"

3) Please ensure that you have the latest drivers for your video card (obtainable from the manufacturer's website). This is especially valuable if you are a Vista or Windows 7 user.

4) Navigate to the "PreReqs" folder on your Global Agenda installation. The exact location may vary based on where you have installed Steam, but by default (for the beta version):

* On 32-bit installations: C Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\global agenda beta server\PreReqs
* On 64-bit installations: C Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\global agenda beta server\PreReqs

5) From the PreReqs directory, run each of the following files (You may attempt to launch game between each install to see whether the particular file fixed your issue):

* Run physx.exe --> This will ensure you have proper version of PhysX software (note: Even though this is NVidia software, it is required regardless of who your Video Card manufacturer is).
* Run vcredist.exe --> This will ensure you have the proper version of Visual C++ redistributables to run the game.
* Run dxwebsetup.exe --> This will enusre you have proper version of DirectX to run the game
* Run DotNetFX35.exe --> This will ensure you have the proper version of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5

6) If all of the above fail to solve your problem, you may try to fully re-install the game. To do this, right click on the game in Steam and select "DELETE LOCAL CACHE". After this, the game will continue to show in your GAMES LIST on Steam but it will be "grey". Right click and hit INSTALL GAME to re-install.

Fixing Crash containing CallStack: "Assertion failed: GNovodexSDK"

If you see this error, see the article How to fix crash containing CallStack: "Assertion failed: GNovodexSDK"

Disable VoiP

A small number of players have had conflicts between the in-game voice and a driver or other software on their machine. The best way to identify whether this is the source of your problem is to temporarily disable voice.

To do:

1) Find Global Agenda on your MY GAMES list in Steam

2) Right click on the game and select Properties.

3) On the General tab, hit SET LAUNCH OPTIONS...

4) Put in the launch option: -novoip

5) Hit Ok and re-launch the game

Still Crashing After All That...

Your problem may be related to some audio conflicts. The change below may help, or may hurt depending on your configuration. If it doesn't help you be sure to revert it.:

1. find [WinDrv.WindowsClient] in TgEngine.ini (under C Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\global agenda beta server\tggame\Config)

2. replace:
AudioDeviceClass=ALAudio.ALAudioDevice
with:
AudioDeviceClass=XAudio2.XAudio2Device

3. Completely quit out of the game and try again.

A: Yes. That said, some promotions are being run in which keys are being given away to the general public.

Q: Can the Beta be pre-loaded so I can start playing as soon as it starts?
A: Unfortunately, no.

Q: If I dislike the Beta, can I cancel my pre-order?
A: Yes, as long as you cancel BEFORE the final release date.

Monday, March 30, 2009 : Dog Pound - Joins the Coalition of Chill oomph
The decision wasn't very difficult for us.

Having played with the Goons and KGB in previous MMO's, we felt confident in our decision to join the Coalition of Chill. We're guaranteed to have the most fun and be a part of some the servers largest siege battles and funniest antics.

As a member of the Coalition of Chill, Dog Pound has been designated as the Ork/Mahirim Diplomats. You can expect us to play a major role in the development of our faction and the destruction of the Savage Alliance.

In the meantime, we would like to thank the Duchy of Wessex for its kind donation towards the Coalitions cause.
