Ancient Grappler
The Rhyme of the Ancient Grappler By [DP]BaD_DoG Circa before the days of Q2 and Q2CTF and when Zoid released his 4.2 hook.
It is an ancient Grappler And he stoppeth one of three. -"By thy long gray beard and glittering eye, Now wherefore stopp'st thou me?
The Blue base's doors are opened wide, And I am next set on D The O is off, the quad is got: May'st hear the warring din."
He holds him with his skinny hand, "There was a match," quoth he. "Hold off! unhand me, graybeard loon!" Eftsoons his hand dropped he.
The base-defender he beat his breast, Yet he cannot choose but hear And thus spake on that ancient man, The bright-eyed Grappleer.
"God save thee, ancient Grappler! From the fiends, that plague thee thus!- Why look'st thou so?"--With my grapplehook I shot Zoid across the nuts.
Day after day, day after day, I stuck, my hook with motion As freely as a sporting ship Upon a sporting ocean.
Lava, lava everywhere, And all the players did fly Lava, lava everywhere, Nor did they fall-in and die.
Then Zoid spied me grappling, With poise and balance so free, He hated all my prancing, And said to himself evilly.
"I shall kill his hook, So he will play like me, I shall kill his hook, This grappleer, this grappleer so free."
My hand, with pain, began to rot That ever this should be! I dropped my hook, precious 4.1 hook and O the horror I see
Ah! well-a day! what evil looks Had I from old and young! Instead of the 4.1, the 4.2 About my hand was hung.
Farewell, farewell! but this I tell To thee, thou Defending friend! He playeth well, who loveth well To play like Zoid in the end.
